Figments.nrw – Workshop Highlights and Results
On May 3, 2023, the consortium consisting of RWTH Aachen University, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences and Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences was able to demonstrate how VR can be integrated into learning environments in the future in a workshop on “Open authoring tools for collaborative virtual learning environments”.

Dev #06: Backend, UI and a Roadmap-Update
A lot has happend, but most of it in the invisible depths of the backend. None the less we want to show you what we are working on currently.
Learntec 2022
Learntec 2022 will take place in Karlsruhe from May 31 to June 2, 2022. This year, Figments.nrw can also present itself with a lecture at Europe’s largest event for digital education in schools, universities and the workplace.
Dev #05: Personal Space & Boundaries
Learning is embedded in social contexts. Learning with Figments.nrw in virtual reality is not excluded from the need to create safe spaces for these interactions. Therefore, we are designing a system for Personal Spaces that on the one hand protects our learners and on the other hand helps us to develop reactive interaction methods based on it.
Dev #04: VR Whiteboards
After a longer break, we are back with our devblog. A lot has happened in the past weeks and months: We tested a first prototype together with students, developed a virtual showroom for Figments.nrw and implemented new features, including one of our first reusable Figments: An interactive whiteboard.
